Instruments of Darkness tell us truths

The quote that I want to use in my essay is from Macbeth, “Instruments of Darkness tell us truths." I think it is a paradox because it says that the "instruments of darkness" tell the truth. And in the Bible, john 3:21, it says that the truth is the light. So, Shakespeare tells us that darkness produces light, which is a paradox because they're opposites and that's the way it works. But in real life, if you think about it, sometimes the darkness around us draws us to the light. An example would be if a child lied to his parents about something and expect them to never find out but actually they do because the truth always comes out from darkness. Parents always find out if the child does something bad. All the bad things that people do, which are the instruments of darkness, is going to come out in light. If people do bad things, they sin, they are getting used to it, and they think that something is wrong with the world, so they're trying to look for light. This quote kind of make sense but at the same time it's not. For non believers,  It is hard to look for light when it's dark. But the Bible says that if you're going to see the light, you're going to find the truth, because light is the truth.

Purpose of life

Looking from the Christian point of view, we can see that this world is full of sin, sickness, pain, and etc. The first person who sinned in this world was Eve. We’re all wondering why she did that. Why did she eat the fruit that was toxic? God let her to make her choice, to do what she wants, and she chose to sin. All her life she was a Christian, she obeyed God, and didn’t do bad things. She didn’t know what sin was, and I think one of the reasons why she ate this fruit was because she believed the snake. She believed everyone, and she trusted everyone because she never knew what sin was. So she trusted the snake, and she thought that the fruit is going to be so good, and nothing is going to happen. And so she ate it.
God gave everyone a choice in their lives, to believe in Him or not. A human being has a right to choose what he wants to believe in. Everyone make their decisions. Some people don’t understand what the purpose of life is and how they should deal with it. I want to talk about the movie that we watched in English class, called “Into the Abyss”. Watching this movie made me sad because I saw how people made bad decisions without even thinking. There are two boys who killed two people just because they wanted the car. Hearing this is stupid because how can you kill two people just because you wanted their car? It’s just unbelievable. After that they got arrested, and the court followed the rules, the law. The court decided to give him a capital punishment, in other words, to kill him.
Is it okay to take away someone’s life even if they did something bad? No, I think it is not okay at all. God allows things to happen in life, and I’m sure that there is a purpose of why He’s allowing it. God gave everyone a chance to live, He gave everyone a good life, and people cannot decide to do a capital punishment or not, only God knows when we’re going to die, and how. These two guys who killed people, they knew what they were doing, they knew that it is going to turn out something bad, and I’m sure that they knew that they’re going to be arrested. It was their decision to kill those people, and they didn’t even care about them, they just wanted the car.
That’s how sinful this world is. This was just one of the examples of the sin. I don’t really know why capital punishment is allowed, why God allowed this to happen, but I trust Him, and I believe that there is a purpose for that.

How I want to grow in english class this year

When Mr O gave us this assignment, to write how we want to grow in english class this year, i thought that i'm going to write this post really fast and it is going to be easy. It turned out to be a little hard because i didn't know what i would say, and after that i set for a moment and started thinking how i really want to grow, do i really want it, do i want to do a lot of work, and etc. When we grow up, we all know that we have to have good education and a good job. To have an education and a job we need to grow in many ways. So i thought thats it's going to be a hard year and i really need to do my best, because i'll need this in the future. To grow in english class it means to learn new things. I want to do it by reading books, learning new words, memorizing poems, contributing in class, and helping my classmates. I know that this year i'll have to push myself even harder than last year, and i'm sure that everything will go well if i'm going to do my work, and attend what is being said in class.

Hey Mr O, I can write!

Is it easy to love the father you never saw? There are a lot of sufferings, failings, difficult situations, and problems in our lives but the question consists in how we overcome them. It is like a soldier who lost a foot in the war and came home, trying to live despite of all contributions, and just being happy that he is alive. Likewise Lucie, who is happy that her father is alive and with her right now, however she never met him. I want to speak up on behalf of Lucie. Lucie is a character from Charles Dickens's book "A Tale of Two Cities". I want you to picture Lucie's story, and to feel the way she felt. My name is Lucie Manette. I was raised by my mother in English traditions. All my childhood and youth I considered myself as an orphan because I thought I don't have a father until I turned twenty years old, when I found out that my father is alive. My life changed completely from this moment. My life was divided into two parts, "before" and "after". I was confused what I should do in the future. At that moment, I had to make a big decision whether I believe that it is my father, to love him and be his daughter, or not excepting this person knowing that he is my father. But for me, the only option was to accept him because I already loved him. When he first saw me you could see it in his eyes that he did not understand what was going on, he didn't know who I am but he recognized me by my mother's hair. When I was looking at him, my heart was full of love and pity. I thought that I was waiting for this moment for my whole life. Here is my father, who never was in my life, and never knew me. I was deprived of his love and care, but at this moment I precisely knew that I want to be with my father, I want to know him, and to be ready to do everything to help him to return to normal life. Lucie's loving, thoughtful decision changed her life in beneficial way to do everything possible for her father to come back to normal life brought a powerful change in his life. He started forgetting the terrible part of his life when he was in prison, thanks to his lovely daughter who except him in spite of risk that he is a stranger. For Dr.Manette, Lucie was a light to his world. She gave him a strong will to live which made him a new person.

The tone I use in this essay is strong but is weak at times because of the sad story. One of my favorite strong quotes with a strong tone is "He started forgetting the terrible part of his life when he was in prison, thanks to his lovely daughter who except him in spite of risk that he is a stranger". One of my favorite quotes with passion is " All my childhood and youth I considered myself as an orphan because I thought I don't have a father until I turned twenty years old, when I found out that my father is alive". In this essay I also use figurative language. A type of figurative language that I use is a simile. A simile where I compare Lucie to a soldier "It is like a soldier who lost a foot in the war and came home, trying to live despite of all contributions, and just being happy that he is alive. Likewise Lucie, who is happy that her father is alive and with her right now, however she never met him". I mostly have simple sentences, as you can see throughout my essay, because I wanted to make sure that the reader would not get depressed because of the overly sorrowful story. A place where I have a detail is when I talk about Lucie’s loving decision "Lucie's loving decision to do everything possible for her father to come back to normal life brought a powerful change in his life". In this essay I tried to use a simple diction so that normal average people would be able to understand my writing without having to look up words. My favorite imagery in this essay is in the sentence "Lucie's loving, thoughtful decision changed her life in beneficial way to do everything possible for her father to come back to normal life brought a powerful change in his life".

Hey Mr O, I've go something to say and language in which to say it!

On my essay “Let Go Someone You Love”, Emily and I had a great conversation, a dialogue that helped me to understand an important thing that I’ve never thought of. She wrote what she felt about this essay, her thoughts, ideas, questions, which is really important for me because I wanted to know how people felt about this essay, and also wanted to develop my writing skills. I really liked that she asked me some questions that I didn’t really think about; she tried to make me think in a different way, to think about it deeply. I also liked that she gave me an example from Bible, because in the Bible, it talks a lot about love, relationships, and it is one of the important things that we have to think about. Do we really love our enemies? Do we really love God? This conversation taught me that we really have to think out of the box, be more specific, and make people think. I’m really glad I got the reader’s attention, and as Emily said, I did. This dialogue proved that i can make my readers feel sertain ways. I hope to expand my writing skills.

Darnay's Trip

One night, Darnay was sleeping and in the middle of the night he was woken up and told he is going to Paris with an escort. This escort was Monsieur Defarge. When they came to the town of Beauvais, Darnay knew he was in trouble. A decree had passed when Darnay left England, and the decree was that all emigants will return to death. If I was Darnay, I would be really scared to know this and I wouldn't know what to do. So when he arrived to Paris, he was sent to prison La Force. Even though Defarge knew that Darnay was married to Lucie, he is willing to help him. When Darnay got to prison, he was shocked because the other prisoners were nice and genteel. After a while, he starts to understand why Doctor Manette was making shoes.

When Mr. Lorry heard that the government made this decree in Paris, he hoped that none of his friends are there, but Lucie and Doctor Manette came to him and tolf him that Darnay is there in prison. Mr.Lorry wants to help him and goes to Paris. He is visited by Monsieur Defarge with a message from Doctor Manette, and says that Darnay is safe, but neither of them can leave the prison. Darnay sends a message for his wife, Lucie, and she is so happy to know that he is safe.

That was a little summary of how Darnay got to prison, and i think it is a good reminder that we should be careful in all our actions. If someone would wake me up and tell me that i should go to Paris, i would think that something is wrong.
