Task #4

Who is the one who deceived? Lady Macbeth plays an important role in the play. She's Macbeth's wife and she's the one who tell Macbeth to "Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under't" (act 1 scene 5). In these lines she was trying to say that Macbeth should be charming against King Duncan while plotting his crime. He needed to kill the king to become the king. Lady Macbeth told him that if he's not going to kill him then he's not going to be like a man, and she had a lot of other reasons for that. So he had to kill him, and so he did. After killing the king, Lady Macbeth placed the daggers on the king's stewards so it would look like they killed the king and not Macbeth. Here we can see how she lied to people, because she wanted peopel to think differently, that Macbeth didn't kill the king, she wanted to protect her husband in a bad way.
