One night, Darnay was sleeping and in the middle of the night he was woken up and told he is going to Paris with an escort. This escort was Monsieur Defarge. When they came to the town of Beauvais, Darnay knew he was in trouble. A decree had passed when Darnay left England, and the decree was that all emigants will return to death. If I was Darnay, I would be really scared to know this and I wouldn't know what to do. So when he arrived to Paris, he was sent to prison La Force. Even though Defarge knew that Darnay was married to Lucie, he is willing to help him. When Darnay got to prison, he was shocked because the other prisoners were nice and genteel. After a while, he starts to understand why Doctor Manette was making shoes.
When Mr. Lorry heard that the government made this decree in Paris, he hoped that none of his friends are there, but Lucie and Doctor Manette came to him and tolf him that Darnay is there in prison. Mr.Lorry wants to help him and goes to Paris. He is visited by Monsieur Defarge with a message from Doctor Manette, and says that Darnay is safe, but neither of them can leave the prison. Darnay sends a message for his wife, Lucie, and she is so happy to know that he is safe.
That was a little summary of how Darnay got to prison, and i think it is a good reminder that we should be careful in all our actions. If someone would wake me up and tell me that i should go to Paris, i would think that something is wrong.
